October at the Grand Californian: The Plan

Our GC Fix

The Plan

Well, we decided we couldn’t really pull off an October Food & Wine Festival trip this year so we booked the Grand Californian instead (besides, the Wilderness Lodge pool is going to be closed during that time).

The GC is Disneyland Resort’s version of WDW (same architect as Wilderness Lodge and Animal Kingdom Lodge) and our home-away-from-home. We haven’t stayed here in over a year (we’ll keep checking cancellations for September.) But a real possibility for next year is to upgrade our AP to a Premier and visit WDW for Flower & Garden in the spring and Food & Wine in the fall.

My nail technician (originally from Maryland) says she goes to “Cali” once a month or so for a short visit to the beach. Btw, only outsiders say “Cali” – we say “SoCal.” 🙂

It’ll be a short trip for us, too, and we haven’t planned the whole thing but here’s a first stab.

Evening: Depart Las Vegas for Anaheim after work, arrive around 9 p.m., check in at the GC, have drink at Hearthstone Lounge, bed.

Morning: DCA (breakfast at Flo’s?)
Afternoon: Lunch at pool
Evening: FP for Radiator Springs, Carthay Circle Lounge

Morning: Disneyland (Haunted Mansion)
Afternoon: Lunch at Beach or pool
Evening: Disneyland

Morning: Pool, drive home or Breakfast at beach if pool yesterday

Oh, I want to stay at the GC! But I guess I will pick a time when I can get into the DVC villas there.
