Mount Charleston is just an hour’s drive from our home in Las Vegas but it may as well be worlds away. Sitting in your own cabin overlooking the mountains and pines and listening to Stellar’s Jays singing their tunes, you feel as if you’re in Sequoia or Yosemite in the California Sierras.
The temps are often in the 80s when it’s close to 110 in the Valley floor so it’s quite the welcome respite from summer’s heat.
Mount Charleston Lodge has about a dozen cabins or so and a restaurant. We enjoyed our time sipping wine on our deck enjoying the view after a late lunch in the restaurant and an evening sipping more wine and munching on cheese and crackers. We also enjoyed a soak in the indoor jacuzzi.
